Israel Bombs Yemeni Port City After Houthi Missile Struck Near Tel Aviv Airport

Israel has launched airstrikes on the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah in retaliation for a missile strike by Houthi rebels that landed near Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport. The Israeli military said the strike on Hodeidah was aimed at targeting Houthi military infrastructure and weapons depots.

The Houthi rebels, who are backed by Iran, have been fighting a bloody civil war against the Yemeni government since 2014. The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people and pushed the country to the brink of famine.

The missile strike near Tel Aviv’s airport was a rare direct attack on Israeli territory by the Houthi rebels. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett condemned the attack, calling it a “brazen act of terrorism” and vowing to respond with force.

The Israeli airstrikes on Hodeidah have raised concerns about escalating tensions in the region. The United Nations has called for an immediate ceasefire and a return to negotiations to end the conflict in Yemen.

The situation in Yemen is already dire, with millions of people facing food insecurity and a healthcare system on the brink of collapse. The Israeli airstrikes will only exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the country.

The international community must work together to de-escalate the situation and find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Yemen. Military retaliation will only lead to further suffering for the people of Yemen and will not bring about a lasting peace.

It is crucial that all parties involved in the conflict in Yemen prioritize the safety and well-being of civilians and work towards a political solution that addresses the root causes of the conflict. The people of Yemen deserve peace and stability, not more violence and destruction.
